I am poet and artist who has been fascinated by Vampires and their lore at the age of five when I saw Bela Legosi’s Dracula. I blame it on my older brother who made me stay up past midnight to watch ‘Shock Theater’. A proud member of the Undead Poet’s Society, I have also pursued a career in the theater of blood, death, tragedy and laughter (Shakespeare).
The Black Cross is a collection of short Dark Poems which were written while frequenting the Goth Clubs of Los Angeles in the late 20th Century. Each visitation was bathed in black. The echoes of screams could be heard coming from the audience (the music was usually too loud).
Here is a short verse from the title poem:
Now, like a statue of flame,
She stands and watches,
What thoughts does she entertain,
Here in the dark?
With the music playing
And the lights dancing,
Cutting through the darkness,
Slashing through her thoughts
Like swords through illusions…
13 short poems on Gothic and Vampire themes in a Red Cardstock cover with a translucent Red interior fly sheet. The book is hand folded, cut, bound and stitched for a beautiful companion volume set. The book is very lightweight and portable. The volume slips easily into the purse or pocket for an evening out, reading material while waiting for the night to fall, or if you’re a thief and want to rob someone of my book (you sneaky bastard).
